It’s hard to believe, but the special season of Christmas has come to an end, after the annual Carol Service on 18th october, a beautiful service attended by more than 100 parishioners and guests, followed by Christmas Eve and Christmas day services and celebrations.
Although the period following Christmas is often thought of as a quieter time until the Easter season (with Lent this year commencing with Ash Wednesday on February 22nd), in coming weeks there are several special celebrations in the Anglican calendar, and special events at Christ Church. details of these will be included on this web page and announced in the weekly Parish Press, available at all Sunday and weekday services which continue throughout the New Year period.
Following the holiday period, the return of parishioners after holidays, and the start of a new school year, a Parish Celebratory lunch will be held in the Vicarage grounds on 5th February, which will also be the date of the first CAFS service for 2012. Evereyone across the Parish is invited to come together for this picnic lunch !
On 19th February 2012 the Annual Darwin Defenders' Service will be held - watch the Parish Press for details.
