On this page you'll find the various services and celebrations associated with Holy Week and Easter in 2025, for you to re-visit or to use in at home if you couldn't be in church with us. As with all services recorded at Christ Church, the recordings are made LIVE during the various services, so some congregational and background noise will be audible, and your volume levels may need to be adjusted.
Several of the services listed below will be recorded during Holy Week, and will be included on this page as soon as they have been edited - usually within a day or so of each service. This page will be updated throughout Holy Week.
Celebrate Holy Week and Easter at Christ Church!!
Eucharist was celebrated at 7am, and again at 7pm when the Stations of the Cross was celebrated. At Christ Church, images of the fifteeen Stations are displayed in the Side Chapel, and are always available to use for personal prayer or meditation. The Stations of the Cross Readings and Meditations are a special part of Holy Week, particularly on Easter Monday, and this recording of the Fifteen Mediations includes the Meditations, read by members of the congregation, and the images of the Stations themselves, for your use at home as part of this Holy Week.
* This recording (25:34) is of the beautiful Tenebrae Service including all the Readings and Prayers, and the Lighting of the Seven Candles. The Tenebrae Service reminds us that Christ remains the Light of the World, and that God says 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'.
This recording (9:43) was taken from the 10am Eucharist, including the Gospel for the day and Fr Lankiri's sermon.
On Maundy Thursday we recall the Last Supper and follow Jesus' command to wash one another's feet. This recording (53:34) is of the full service, from entry of the clergy through to the conclusion of the service when, following the celebration of the Eucharist, the Altar and Sanctuary was stripped in preparation for the Easter Vigil.

the Way of the Cross - We gathered at 10.30am at St Mary's Basilica to join the Easter Procession through Geelong streets, finishing at Market Square, and pausing for readings several times during the walk. At the conclusion of the Procession clergy and parishioners returned to Christ Church for a Eucharist service and the Veneration of the Cross.
This service began in darkness and the church was gradually illuminated by kindling new fire, as we cxelebrated Christ's resurrection at th first Eucharist of Easter.
