Christmas at Christ Church in 2020 was a little different to other years - thanks largely tothe impact of the Corona pandemic and associsted restrictions! But we still celebrated with a special Children's Service on Christmas Eve, and Eucharists on Christmas Eve (Midnight Mass) and Christmas Day itself. The congregations at these services came together to celebrate Christ's birth and all that it meant - and means - for the world.

There are pictures and some sound and video clips from these services below. The recordings were made live in Christ Church, so some congregational noise is audible, and volume controls may need to be adjusted.

our "virtual" Carol Service - December 2020

In contrast to other years, the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols in 2020 was a "virtual" one, drawing on carols, readings and music presented during Christmas services from earlier years.

You can listen to the 2020 Service of Nine Lessons and carols here - and sing along too, if you like!

The Families' & Children's Service

Christmas Eve

... and for the first time since February 2020 we were able to sing in the church! You can listen here to some of the carols and other music played on Christmas Eve at Christ Church -

Carol - O Come al Ye Faithful (5:18)

Carol - Silent Night (excerpt - 1:42)

Communion Voluntaries (played by Winton Barry - 5:39)

Carol - The First Nowell (4:06)

Postlude (played by Winton Barry - 4:16)

(all recordings made live at Christ Church, so some congregational noise may be audible - particularly during the Postlude when the congregation was leaving the church)
