A Celebration of the
Ministry of Ordained Women
On 22nd July 201o the Archdeanery celebrated the Ministry of Ordained Women, with a special Eucharist at Christ Church in Geelong. Open to all, the service was led by Bps Barbara Darling and Philip Huggins, and was attended by many ordained women holding parish and pastoral appointments (some of whom are pictured at left) across the Geelong region. More than 90 women attended - not counting men and children - the service which also marked the Feast of Mary Magdalene, and paid recognition not only to women's ordained ministry, but to the many women who had not experienced any sort of commissioning service but had worked faithfully for many years in response to God's call.
